It&#8217;s called the wheel of life.<\/p>\n<p>It works like this.<\/p>\n<p>You can look at the areas of your life like a wheel.<\/p>\n<p>If you have a wheel and it is a nice even wheel, as you roll along it is a very smooth ride and your life can be like that, as long as all areas are in balance.<\/p>\n<p>The areas that compose this wheel can be seen like spokes, they are all different lengths.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/coachingreallyworks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/life-balance-wheel.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2255\" src=\"https:\/\/coachingreallyworks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/life-balance-wheel.jpg\" alt=\"life-balance-wheel\" width=\"396\" height=\"448\" srcset=\"https:\/\/coachingreallyworks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/life-balance-wheel-82x92.jpg 82w, https:\/\/coachingreallyworks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/life-balance-wheel-265x300.jpg 265w, https:\/\/coachingreallyworks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/life-balance-wheel-353x400.jpg 353w, https:\/\/coachingreallyworks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/life-balance-wheel.jpg 396w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 396px) 100vw, 396px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nIf you take these areas and you measure them on a scale of one to ten from the center you can see how if an area is at a ten, then that is great.<\/p>\n<p>If all the other areas are 10 then that is great. You have a perfectly balance wheel. But when you have an area that is really shorter and not quite up to par you will be going along and see that suddenly there is a slump, and then there is a slump. Because something in your life is not exactly right, not working well.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/coachingreallyworks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/life-balance-wheel-filledout1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2266\" src=\"https:\/\/coachingreallyworks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/life-balance-wheel-filledout1.jpg\" alt=\"life-balance-wheel-filledout\" width=\"396\" height=\"448\" srcset=\"https:\/\/coachingreallyworks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/life-balance-wheel-filledout1-82x92.jpg 82w, https:\/\/coachingreallyworks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/life-balance-wheel-filledout1-265x300.jpg 265w, https:\/\/coachingreallyworks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/life-balance-wheel-filledout1-353x400.jpg 353w, https:\/\/coachingreallyworks.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/life-balance-wheel-filledout1.jpg 396w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 396px) 100vw, 396px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The areas that we want to look at are these:<\/p>\n<h3>Career<\/h3>\n<p>We have our\u00a0career life.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You have your job.<\/li>\n<li>The directions you have\u00a0in life.<\/li>\n<li>What you want to do.<\/li>\n<li>How you want to use your time.<\/li>\n<li>How you really want to work.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Money<\/h3>\n<p>Then you have Money.\u00a0We all need money:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To do the things we want to do.<\/li>\n<li>To take care of the people we want to take care of.<\/li>\n<li>To<a title=\"Tired Of Fitting In? Or, Being You?\" href=\"https:\/\/coachingreallyworks.com\/blog\/tired-of-fitting-in-or-being-you\/\"> live the full life<\/a> that we really want to live.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Health<\/h3>\n<p>Then there is health. If you don&#8217;t have your health, or if it is not in good condition, then it is going to be a rough ride<\/p>\n<h3>Friends and Family<\/h3>\n<p>Then we have friends and family. Friends and family are very important.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>They support us.<\/li>\n<li>They provide something that we need in terms of relationships and intimate bonds.<\/li>\n<li>We also need to be able to give to them.<\/li>\n<li>We need to <a title=\"3 Easy Coaching Tips You Can Use to Help Anyone\" href=\"https:\/\/coachingreallyworks.com\/blog\/3-easy-coaching-tips-you-can-use-to-help-anyone\/\">care for our children<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>If our children are not\u00a0doing well, the we are happy<\/li>\n<li>If they are not doing well, then it is a rough ride.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Significant Other\/Romance<\/h3>\n<p>Then we have our significant other and romance.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If you&#8217;re married, it is a spouse, your wife.<\/li>\n<li>If you&#8217;re not married, it could be a girlfriend or a boyfriend.<\/li>\n<li>Someone you are really close to or intimate with.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Personal Growth<\/h3>\n<p>Then we have personal growth.\u00a0Personal growth is where:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You are learning.<\/li>\n<li>You are studying.<\/li>\n<li>You are developing.<\/li>\n<li>You are learning and you are growing your mind.<\/li>\n<li><a title=\"Habits \u2026 Beliefs \u2026 and Eagles\" href=\"https:\/\/coachingreallyworks.com\/blog\/our-advantage-over-an-eagle\/\">You are changing your habits.<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Developing new habits that are strengthening you.<\/li>\n<li>Letting go of habits that are not supporting your life, or in any way contributing to your growth.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Fun and Recreation<\/h3>\n<p>And then we have <a title=\"5 Ways to Give Your Body What it Needs to Serve You Well\" href=\"https:\/\/coachingreallyworks.com\/blog\/5-ways-to-give-your-body-what-it-needs-to-serve-you-well\/\">fun and recreation<\/a>.\u00a0Fun and recreation is one that is really easy to get into but then knowing how to keep that in balance is very important.<\/p>\n<p>Some people will work a lot and they will be very busy they will pour out and give everything to their families but not really have <a title=\"4 Self-Care Areas to Nurture and Prevent Burnout\" href=\"https:\/\/coachingreallyworks.com\/blog\/4-self-care-areas-to-nurture-and-prevent-burnout\/\">time off for themselves<\/a> to just relax and have a down time.<\/p>\n<h3>Psychical Environment<\/h3>\n<p>We also have a physical environment.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The place that you live.<\/li>\n<li>Your home.<\/li>\n<li>Your work space.<\/li>\n<li>Whether you have enough space or not enough space.<\/li>\n<li>Is it in the right place or in a bad location in town?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A lot of things contribute to your personal environment<\/p>\n<p>So there you have it. Those are the areas that you can look into today.<\/p>\n<h3>How To Do the Wheel of Life Exercise<\/h3>\n<p>I put the wheel of life balance down in the show notes below, so be sure to download that.<\/p>\n<p>I would like to suggest that you print it out and take sometime to sit down for maybe 20 to 30 minutes and simply answer this question.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h3>How satisfied am I in this area of my life?&#8221;<\/h3>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Then rate that wheel on a scale of one to ten. Go through all the areas on the wheel. Then once your done step back and have a look at that wheel and see how balanced that wheel is.<\/p>\n<p>You will probably see that there are a couple of areas that maybe are a nine or ten and things are going really well, but then whoops, over here you&#8217;ve only got a five or four.<\/p>\n<p>Then you can see as you are going through your day, if that wheel isn&#8217;t round and you don&#8217;t have the balance that you need in life, it&#8217;s going to be a pretty rough ride.
