The day will go up if the sides of your mouth are up and it will go down if the sides your mouth are down.<\/p>\n<p>Well, a lot of things really are like that.<\/p>\n<p>Let me tell you a little story.<\/p>\n<h3>Have You Ever Been Groggy Like This?<\/h3>\n<p>I remember a little while ago my son, Alan, \u00a0was sitting, doing his homework. He was a bit tired and groggy and I saw him just trying to get through his work and he just wasn&#8217;t going anywhere. He couldn&#8217;t think. The answers were simple. I tried to help him. But I thought, &#8220;No way, he can&#8217;t think like this.&#8221; He was slouched over. And I said, &#8220;Come on. Get up.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He got up. He walked around. He grabbed a glass of water. We talked a little bit. He got his state back up, he got is emotions up and he sat down to do his work and he was\u00a0done very quickly.<\/p>\n<p>I had to give him a little help but the point was that it was the state that really changed how he was able to think or how he was able to work.<\/p>\n<p>While he as in that low state, (there is nothing wrong with it) it was keeping him from reaching\u00a0a clear, simple, and achievable goal he had in front of him.<\/p>\n<p>Now, many times in life, you will\u00a0find that when you are are looking for a breakthrough, when you need a big change or there is something that you\u00a0want to accomplish, you will find that your state will be a key factor in determining your ability to engage and\u00a0get that thing done and to have that breakthrough that you are looking for. (<em>Read <a title=\"Read Awaken the Giant Within on Amazon\" href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/0671791540\/?tag=coachingreall-20\" target=\"_blank\">Awaken the Giant Within<\/a><\/em>)<\/p>\n[shareable]Your state will be a key factor in determining your ability to engage and have the breakthrough you are looking for.[\/shareable]\n<h3>Stay Away From Making Decisions This Way<\/h3>\n<p>Very often we try\u00a0to make decisions in state where we are fearful or depressed, or we are discouraged. In that state of mind, we can&#8217;t really make the progress that we need, we can see clearly, we cannot identify the areas that are going to work and we can&#8217;t really give it our all when we are in\u00a0those low states.<\/p>\n<p>So, state is a key to really moving forward and having the breakthroughs that you\u00a0are looking for.<\/p>\n<p>Here are a few tips for changing your state in those moments, when you are making a plan, or working on a project, or sitting down\u00a0and making a decision. Whatever the case is, before you get into it, take some time to make sure you are in\u00a0that heightened state, that excited state. Maybe not\u00a0even excited, if that is not the best word for it but\u00a0in a state of power and confidence.<\/p>\n<p>So here goes.<\/p>\n<h3>6 Tips To Shift Those Emotions Into High Gear<\/h3>\n<h4><strong>1. Music<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Music has a way of moving us. Find music that really inspires you and gets you going, play it for five or ten minutes, get your heart rate up and dance around if you want.<\/p>\n[shareable]Music has a way of moving us. Find music that really gets you going, play it for 5\u00a0or 10\u00a0min, get your heart rate up.[\/shareable]\n<h4><strong>2. Gratitude<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>You probably have heard this one said a lot but <a title=\"Experience Being Grateful Today\u2013Lessons from a Monk\" href=\"https:\/\/coachingreallyworks.com\/blog\/experience-being-grateful-today\/\" target=\"_blank\">gratitude<\/a> has a way of working in and rewiring our thoughts in the moment.<\/p>\n<p>Take a piece of paper and list ten things that you are grateful\u00a0for. Read them out loud. Even if you don&#8217;t have a piece of paper just think about three to ten things that you are thankful for, really thankful for, today, right now.<\/p>\n<p>You will begin to feel that feeling welling up inside. You will be so thankful and you will have the power to move forward.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>3. Affirmations<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Now the third one is the use of affirmations. It is very similar to gratitude. In affirmations we can state in positive, clear, present tense terms what it is, where it is that we want our emotions to be at that moment.<\/p>\n<p>You can use an affirmation as simple as:<\/p>\n[shareable]I think clear thoughts. My mind is clear and I have all the energy I need to accomplish the task at hand.<\/p>\n<p>#affirmation[\/shareable]\n<p>There are so many ways that you can use affirmations and form just the ones that you need in your life. Posture<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Change your posture.<\/p>\n<p>If you are sitting down, have your legs crossed, or you&#8217;re slouching, whatever the case is, sit up. Take deep breaths. Even if you do not have the time to get up and do anything else just sit a simple shift in your\u00a0physiology will do wonders to change your state.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>5. Exercise<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Another that goes along these lines is do some form of exercise for maybe\u00a0five to ten minutes. Maybe you do not need to go change your\u00a0clothes or go to the gym, just jump up and down. Run around the block outside the house. Go out in the yard.<\/p>\n<p>If you are at work, just walk briskly up and down\u00a0the hallway a couple of times and get back to what you need to get done.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>6. <span style=\"color: #993300;\">BONUS<\/span>:\u00a0Energy boost tip<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>The last one is something that\u00a0I learned my coach training. I do not know everything\u00a0about it but it has something to do with\u00a0energy healing.<\/p>\n<p>It using what is\u00a0called the K27 points. Apparently we have acupuncture points on\u00a0our body and by being able to access them, we can change our state. These are called K27 points and they are located right under your collar bone, the fleshy part.<\/p>\n<p>If you tap them. Tap them like this and breathe out and say Ha! ha! ha! hahaha!<\/p>\n<p>Just do that a few times and you will feel that it clears your thoughts, it gets the energy flowing through your body again.
