It can be embarrassing to be in a group of friends and have someone call you out with, “That’s a dumb question.” That probably hasn’t happened much since you were a kid.
As adults we still do ask questions that aren’t very helpful. Except, most of them we ask ourselves.

Hi there! I’m Abe Stone, the life design coach and this is Coaching Really Works.
I am so glad that you are here. I love doing research for you. I love pulling these ideas together and I putting them here together in one place where you can find the things that you need to move your life to the next level, to move your business to the next level and to keep living your life to the full.
Today’s topic is about using questions and the power of questions in our lives.
I Bet You’ve Asked This One
Have you ever had the experience where you wake up one morning and you are feeling a little bit tired? You are feeling a little bit exhausted and you don’t know what to do. You know that you’ve got to get to work and you are getting and you are asking yourself, “Why am I so tired?”
Now think about that question.
Why Am I So Tired?”
It just leaves you with believing that you are tired and feeling even more tired. How about a better question?
What can I do to get rid of this tiredness?
What can I do to get energy to face today?
How can I turn this tiredness around and get all the zest that I need for my day?”
You see, there is a difference in those questions. (Read Awaken the Giant Within)
[shareable]When you ask the right questions you actually find the right solutions. You move into a position of power. @Abe_Stone[/shareable]You can ask better questions in your work. There are so many ways why people get frustrated like, “Why aren’t we making more money?”
Well:
What can we do to turn our situation around?
What can we do to bring in more customers?
Where are the customers that we are looking for?”
Those are the kinds of questions that need to be asked instead of, “Why?”
[shareable]”Why?” is a very debilitating question. @Abe_Stone[/shareable]Here’s How to Ask Those Magic Questions
And now I would like to give you three simple tips for asking better questions and turning the quality of your life, your business, of your relationships, or whatever it is completely around.
1. Ask open questions.
Do not ask questions that have yes or no answers.
Ask questions like:
What will you be doing?”
Where will we be going?”
How can we reach this point?”
Instead of:
Can we reach this point?”
Will we reach this point?”
Can we do that?”
When you ask those closed questions, they just cut off the answer with a simple yes or no and it doesn’t leave room for more communication and more answers to come in.
2. Ask about details.
Do not just ask vague questions like:
How can I make more money?”
Ask something like:
What is one new action step that will bring in more money into our business within the next seven days?”
3. Ask if-then questions.
I like this one, it is the one that coaches use. We call it a slide by in coaching. If you ask if-then questions then the mind is able to approach the problem in a different angle and to find solutions in a different way.
So you can say something like:
If money were the problem, what would I do to achieve this result?”
Or maybe it is a relationships:
If I had the time to invest in my relationship, what would I do?”
Okay, so these if-then give you a fresh way for your mind to approach situations.

And now I am going to leave you with a quote from Tony Robbins.
Successful people ask better questions, and as a result, they get better answers.”
The affirmation for today is:
I keep asking better questions which lead me to better answers.”
Just keep telling yourself that and keep reminding yourself to ask those better questions.
