Welcome
Hello and welcome to Coaching Really Works dot com.
I’m really glad you can make it. My name is Abe Stone. I am a life design coach and I am the curator here at CoachingReallyWorks.com.
If you are new to the site, check out the categories that I have listed above this post and you will see what I blog about on a regular basis. If you have been coming here before and you are one of my regular readers, then you know that this video is something new, something I’ve never done before. I’m really excited about it. It’s turning a new leaf on our website and what I do.
As you can tell I’m a little bit nervous, and you probably notice that already. I have never done this before and I was very excited about the idea.
Don’t get stuck in your head
I want to talk about this on this first post. When you start something new, it could be quite a challenge to your mind. It could be quite a challenge to your brain.
You can be excited, you can want to do it, you can be interested in doing it, but until you take action, its just there, its just stuck in your head.
Now, about 3 or 4 months ago I got the idea of doing videos for this blog and I was really excited about it. I didn’t know how to do it and I came across a material from a man named James Schramko (not an affiliate link) down in Australia. He recommended different ideas, different products, he had a lot of suggestions on how to do it. In my mind, I was like, WOW, I can do this, I really want to do this.
The reason I want to do these videos is very simple. I believe that its going to provide more value to you my readers. It is my hope that by doing my videos is that you will be able to benefit more from the materials that I share on this site, through being able to watch them while you are doing other things or on the go or even just through MP3s.
I am going to put an iTunes channel up soon, with this video so hopefully it should be available already for you to work with.
It’s okay to be a little nervous about doing something new
As I said I am a bit nervous about doing this video, it is my first time, but aren’t there things in your life that you are nervous about?
- Things that you want to try
- Things that you want to do
- But you are not sure how to do them
- You are not really good at them
- You never had the opportunity to do them
Like I said, I found someone who knew how to do it. I even downloaded a special introduction to videoing with an iPhone, and that is what I am using right now to record this video and that made things really simple. It made it possible for me to do it.
But then again it only stays in your mind until you get over that nervousness, you get over that apprehension and you just get out and do it.I am sure I’ll get better at this as I do more videos and I continue to communicate in this form. Until then I know I will be a bit nervous, but that’s okay.
I know that is going to happen to happen to you to. If there is something new that you want to, maybe you need to talk to someone that you haven’t been able to talk to about something that is really important. Maybe you want to try a new business opportunity. Maybe there are things that you have been putting off and you just don’t want to get to them because you don’t know how to do them.
There is always somebody out there who knows. There is always somebody who can help you with the ideas.
Once you get the information you need it all comes down to you taking the first step, you taking action.
Usually when we are facing something new like what I am with this video the thought comes to your mind, “I just can’t do this, I don’t know how to do this, I have never done it before, I don’t know what to do.”
Well, if you keep that “I can’t” idea in your head you won’t, but how about trying a question like this:
- How can I do this?
- How will I do this?
Because when you start to ask a question like that, that’s giving you a way forward, the mind begins to go to work and begins looking for solutions, looking for ideas. Not only that you become more keenly aware of ideas. You are able to see new possibilities that you have never seen before.
On this topic of something that you have never seen before, I would like to share a quote that was really popular last week. It’s from Robin Sharma.
Without the doing, the dreaming is useless”
Robin Sharma (read The Greatness Guide)
A lot of people, they hook on to their dream, they are excited for their dream, their dream is very much alive.
They live it over and over and over again in their minds, but the trick is to get out there and do it, so I want to encourage you to do that.
- What is that one thing that you wanted to do?
- What is that one thing that you are waiting to do?
Just do it!
Even if you’re nervous. Even if you fumble like I am on this video, just get out and do it. Nothing is going to change until you take action.
In the spirit of doing something new, I want to share an affirmation a couple of weeks ago and its really popular
[callout]Affirmation“By releasing the past, I allow myself to move onward and upward”
[/callout]If you are curious about what affirmations are, how they work, and what their function is or how people have used them, I encourage you to look over on the left (actually your right 🙂 ) there’s the guide to affirmations Get the Results You’ve Always Wanted.
If you download that, it is very simple. I kept it really simple, something you can read in a short sitting, and start using affirmations right away.
I use them on a regular basis
Thanks again for dropping by my website. I really appreciate it.
