I’d like to give you seven quick little tips that YOU CAN USE to boost your productivity in just about anything you do, whether you are working from home or if you work at a job or you own your own business or maybe you are a stay-at-home parent who takes care of the family.

Whatever the case is, you can use these tips to organize your time, organize your activities and to become more productive, to boost your brainpower and your ability to GET MORE DONE with the time that you have.

Now here’s an infographic, and it’s overwhelming, there’s fifty of these productivity tips. But again, I am just going to give you seven. So don’t feel overwhelmed by them, pick up the ones that RESONATE with you the most. I’m hoping that these seven that I use personally will make a difference in helping you at least take one step to greater productivity.

1. Quit Multitasking

Seriously, multitasking doesn’t work. Actually it’s a MYTH that came out of the computer age when computers started going faster and faster, they could do so many calculations and switch between them so it looked like it was multitasking, but even a computer can only do one thing at once even though it’s switching very quickly. But we don’t have the capability of a computer in that sense.

2. List Your Plans the Night Before

I think this one is really key for all of us. And that is, before you go to bed, sit down and write down, I would suggest the top three things that you want to get done tomorrow. And write them down very clearly and ORGANIZE them in order of priority, which one is first, second and third.

When you go to sleep, you’re going to see that your subconscious mind continues to work on them, you will get a good night’s sleep and you will wake up prepared to tackle the job that you need to do; and even some of the solutions might even be ready for you when you wake up.

[shareable cite=”Abe Stone”]Put your subconsious mind to work at night, get a good nice sleep and wake up prepared to tackle your to-do list.[/shareable]

3. Put On Some Nice Ambient MUSIC

If you need to CONCENTRATE, maybe you need something that’s a little bit more slow and helps you to sort of get into a state of focus.

If you have just got to get some mundane tasks, maybe you’re doing the laundry or you’ve just got to go through and check e-mails and quickly move through things, put on some upbeat music, something quick that would help you to MOVE at a very rapid pace and get the job done and move on.

4. Clear the Clutter

I know it’s seems like a no-brainer and most of us should know this one already but you’ve got to have a clean work area. Clear your desk, clear your working space. If you’re sorting laundry just get everything out of the way and have just the laundry there to work with.

If you are working on writing letters or e-mails, clear out your desktop and just open exactly what you’re going to work on, don’t have anything else around to DISTRACT you and then you can focus.

5. Batch Your Work

I guess this one came from the Industrial Revolution you might say, but it’s one of the things that made a lot of work go faster and be more productive.

Batch things, you put things into tasks that are of the similar type. For example I like to collect all my dishes throughout the day around my house and then I get in there, I get them all done in one clean batch and I am done.

[shareable cite=”Abe Stone”]Batch your work by the same tasks to boost your productivity.[/shareable]

Now it’s the same thing with your work. For example, when I make these videos, I organize all my thoughts, I have a white board over there and I have got all my nine topics LINED UP and I am sitting down and I’m just going to go through all nine videos and then they are done.

6. Take Regular Breaks

There is something called TRANSITION RECOVERY, when you go from one thing that you are working on and you have a break in the middle but really DISCONNECT, disconnect and get your mind free from whatever you are engaged in, go look at the plants, walk around the house, get your breath going, do something to TRANSITION from one activity to the next.

Even if you are in the same activity, step away from it, go wash a few dishes, go make that phone call that you need to make or simply just step out on the balcony and enjoy the view. Then come back and you’re going to see that you’re ready to get back to work again and your mind will be clearer and more focused.

7. Three Key Areas that Keep Your Body in Peak State

This last one is really important and so many people tend to neglect it in favor of thinking that they can get a little bit more done if they cut these things out of their LIFE.

These three things are,

  • SLEEP well
  • EXERCISE well
  • EAT well

Really, you’re doing yourself no favors by cutting corners, skimping on meals or not getting enough rest at night or even just skipping your exercise. If you have to, get it down to just the basics, just the minimum of WHAT YOU NEED.

If you have to, get it down to just the basics, just the minimum of what you NEED.

I do regular thirty minutes of exercise every day and I make sure that I get at least eight hours, between seven and eight hours of sleep at night and I make sure my meals are on time and that I am eating good healthy food.

So, now here’s your quote for today,

[shareable cite=”Paul J. Meyer”]Productivity is never an accident. It is always the result of a commitment to excellence, intelligent planning and focused effort. #quote[/shareable]

Okay now here’s your affirmation for today. Remember, you’ve got to internalize it, you’ve got to emotionalize it and make it a part of your thought process and quote it when you get up in the morning, when you go to bed at night, say it at least three times inside and really feel it and envision yourself being that new person.

[shareable cite=”Abe Stone”]I am productive and successful in all areas of my life. #affirmation[/shareable]
