Often, we may experience emotional hijacking when problems show up, especially if they catch us by surprise.  Whether personal or work related,we are often so overwhelmed by the thoughts and feelings of the moment, we may not see the solutions clearly. How do we keep that from getting us stuck?

No problem can be solved from the same level of consciousness that created it.”

Albert Einstein

One my favorite mentors, Bob Proctor, shared these six steps once which really help guide the solution finding process. Of course some problems are straight forward and may not require this kind process. So, here it is for when you may feel a bit stuck.

  1. Get clear about the problem. Define it clearly on paper. If I picked it up and read it, would I see it as clearly as you do?
  2. Make a list of all the obstacles standing in the way of solving your problem. Get them all down on the list.
  3. Now list the people or other sources of ideas that could help you solve your problem. Getting a mastermind to work through this part with you is a great idea.
  4. Make an exhaustive list of any possible courses of action you can think of. Take your time on this. How about that, there are many solutions. Consider all of them.
  5. Take time to visualize the potential results of each course of action. If you see it, you can do it! [Tweet this!]
  6. Choose the course of action that seems best to you and then pursue it. Be persistent and stick with it long enough for it to work or until you prove that it can’t work. If in the end doesn’t work, choose another.

 Over to you…
