Well, I have four ideas, that I will share with you, so here goes.

1. Learn to be grateful

Just practice gratefulness. Be thankful about little things in your life. Be thankful about the big things in your life.

Learn to be thankful to others because very often the happiness that we experience comes from the gratitude that we show, because our life changes based on the way that our mind is working, the way that we’re thinking, the way that we treat other people, the way we interact with people.

Not only the way we interact with other people, but when you put gratitude out in the Universe, or if it is God that you believe in, it comes back.

It works like a magnet, so when you are grateful you have more to be grateful for and that is going to make you happy.

2. Work towards something

Another important element to happiness is to have something that you are working towards, to have a goal, to have a sense of purpose and direction in your life.

[shareable cite=”Abe Stone”]We are happier when we have a sense of purpose and direction our lives. #quote #lifelesson[/shareable]

I remember hearing a story, I won’t get into it because it is such a long story and I want to keep this video short, but the story is from Bob Proctor about a girl who was a bit sad.

She worked together with him in the office, and he said “Let’s go for lunch and talk.”

He asked “What are you doing? What are you working towards? Do you have any plans?”

The girl said “No, I don’t have any plans. I kind of thought I wanted to go on a trip, but nothing is work out.”

He challenged her to set a goal, decide to do it and work towards it. Sure enough she did and everything turned around, things started to fall into place and she was a lot happier, a lot more bubbly because she had somewhere she was going.

The next one I think is a no brainer but maybe you need to hear it again and that is…

3. Take care of yourself

When you take care of your body, when your body is healthy and getting rest and it’s needs met then you are going to be much happier because your mind will be stronger, your body will be less fatigued, less tired. Here I three ways that I recommend to help you take care of yourself.

    1.  Be sure to get plenty of rest. Be sure to sleep really well, seven to eight hours a night, so that you have the vitality and the presence of mind and the focus that you need.
    2. Get plenty of exercise regularly. Personally I keep it short, I do half an hour everyday. I do that about four or five days a week and then I have my days off, when I don’t. That really makes a huge difference because when your body is functioning well. There is less that is draining your emotions
    3. Keep your body hydrated. Your body needs a lot of water. Your brain needs a lot of water to function, keep all the chemicals balanced, and everything functioning and working well. That is a big key part to how your body feeds your moods and how you feel.

4. Pass happiness on

Alright this next one kinds of ties with the first one a little bit because I did talk about being grateful to other people but it takes it a little bit further.

Stop thinking about yourself and think about someone else that you can make happy.

Make other people happy. Give them a smile. Give them a compliment. Give them a hug if they are someone that you are close to like family members, make other people happy.

It has a great way of rubbing of on yourself. Alright well I hope these four simple tips for being happy today can make a difference in your life.

The quote for the day is:

[shareable cite=”Mahatma Gandhi”]Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony. [/shareable]

The affirmation for the day is:

[shareable cite=”Abe Stone”]I choose to be happy. #affirmation[/shareable]

Actually you might remember a video that I had a while ago, and a poster that I have up on my wall it says:

[shareable cite=”Abe Stone”]Practice happiness now! #quote[/shareable]
