I have found that, though there are some key tenets to productivity, there a variety of ways to get to a productive state and it is important for each of us to discover what works for us personally. (Read Getting Things Done)

While I agree with the bulk of this list, I think there is something to be said for hard work. While day 3 promotes working smarter and not harder, I believe it is in the balance between the two were we will find success.

5 Things Achievers Know About Following Dreams

You might say I was a late bloomer in the dreams department. Having grown up in a high commitment religious environment, where having ideas or dreams was frowned upon in favor or putting the “greater need” above our own desires.

Well, that’s a story for another time, but if you’re like me, I can imagine you are often motivated by the great people you’ve seen accomplish their dreams and goals, and are living amazing lives. We’re told we can do it too. Somehow we often do not pay attention to challenges they went through to get there. (more…)

There were a few thing I managed but by and large I was not much good on the progress front.

In fact, I got quite depressed and overwhelmed at one point looking at my plans, goals, and to-dos. (more…)

I’d say being pleased by an outcome or experience should be our expectation. (more…)

Forget Getting Your Ducks in a Row

Will you ever be ready? …I mean really ready. So often we stop short of doing some things or making certain changes in our lives just because we don’t feel ready. Sound familiar? It’s the bane of the perfectionist’s life.

I love doing things right but what if I never do them? Seth Godin talked about the popular metaphor, get your ducks in a row, in a podcast I heard recently. He recommends not to wait to get all your ducks in a row but to rather focus on what you are going to do with a duck and then get started even if you only start with one duck. LOL! (This did make me laugh.) (more…)
