Ask, “Really?” and Take Charge

It happened. The unexpected came to pass and now you’re screwed. Really? Something happened. So what? Are you gonna go through door number one, door number two or door number three? As crazy at it may seem, you’ve simply been presented with   choice.

Yes, those crazy things that come at us can be so frustrating. Problems may come from our boss or a relative, or even a complete stranger. Maybe there it’s just a failure or mistake on our part. In the end there’s nothing you or I can do about what happens.

This is the fascinating thing though, we always have a choice in how we react. Our mind is an incredible meaning machine. (more…)

Feeling Sexy? Fire Up Your Genius

Yep, there’s more to do with that sexy feeling than… well, you know. Great fun and pleasure! And in addition to nurturing your intimate relationship, it can actually transform your work, activate your creativity and yes even impact your bank account. Sounds more like a turn off. I know! But hear me out.

Those days after a great date or an intimate night with our lover or significant other can be some of the best days of our lives. I know I’ve had incredibly productive days in that state. Walking on cloud 9. I don’t need to convince you of that. I’m sure you’ve experienced it for yourself.

This, often misunderstood, aspect of our lives provides us with an invaluable resource. In his landmark book Napoleon Hill made an incredible connection between sexuality and our mental faculties. He said:

The human mind responds to stimuli, through which it may be “keyed up” to high rates of vibration, known as enthusiasm, creative imagination, intense desire, etc.

He listed 10 mental stimulants in his book Think and Grow Rich. At the top of the list, as the most powerful, is sex, followed by others which included, love, music and auto-suggestion, also known as affirmations.

What these things do is, increase the frequency of the vibration of the mind. Viola, you are connected to new thoughts and potential, a genius state if you will, otherwise inaccessible in your ordinary state of mind.

Sex desire is the most powerful of human desires. When driven by this desire,

A Simple Introduction To How Meditation Works With a Rubik’s Cube

Today I came across this insightful video explaining meditation with a Rubik’s Cube. It got me thinking. So many people find meditation a bit of a challenge to use much less understand. I was one of those people for years. I’ve come to use meditation every day now. Personally I needed someone to explain it to me and help me understand what was happening and how it works. For me that was the Silva Method. I’m a very practical person so the science of it made sense. (more…)

Experiencing Intention and a Six-pack to Boot

How are those New Years resolutions doing? I personally didn’t bother this year as I didn’t want to keep adding to my list of failures. Ha!

I know that doesn’t sound politically correct, but instead I wanted to know that I was making commitments and setting goals I would accomplish. Don’t get me wrong. I love the way the year starts, fresh, and full of promises but getting caught up in the excitement of the new and making a long list of things we want to change doesn’t seem to cut it for most people. And I am no exception. (more…)

What choice do I have?

It was the end of a long tiring day and I got news that the Coaching Really Works website was not working on the Internet Explorer platform. I was frustrated to say the least.

I went on with my evening with my family and tried to relax and enjoy the dinner and fun and games after dinner. But there was this feeling in my chest. This together with other pressures of business were giving me a nagging, emotionally depressing feeling. I kept trying to shake it off. It wasn’t working. It just stayed. (more…)

The Riddle of Experience VS. Memory

It’s amazing how the mind works. Nobel laureate and founder of behavioral economics Daniel Kahneman reveals how our “experiencing selves” and our “remembering selves” perceive happiness differently. This new insight has profound implications for economics, public policy — and our own self-awareness.

This is where it comes to the need to understand your paradigm. It helps to ask yourself right questions when it comes to your perspective on the topic of happiness.
