9 Things Not to Say to Your Child (or Yourself)

Have you made up your mind about what your parent’s were right about and what they were wrong about? I know there are things I definitely want to do better with my children than my parents did with me.

Only, it’s not always so black and white. I respect my parents for the way they raised our family. They did an awesome job with what they knew. Sometimes it helps to learn from others as well. I don’t think I’ve got it all figured out but I feel the list below is a good reference for me and my kids.

Could Your Self-Talk Be Literally Killing You or Your Dreams

As an English teacher, working around children tends to put me in contact with all of their little germs. I had to put in some extra time teaching and all I could think about was not getting sick and fearing that I would, and the negative self-talk started.

Sure enough, I feared a fear and it came upon me, and I was pretty messed up. But then I remembered my secret weapon, yep positive self-talk. We have so much control and power through the mind. — A little extra garlic and vitamin treatment sure helped, too.
