4 Things Confident, Imperfect People Do To Keep Their Integrity

Have you ever answered something like, “Honey, I’m just around the corner, see you in three minutes,” when your mate calls you on your way home, but you’re actually about 10 minutes out? Guilty here.

A podcaster I heard talked about how we live in a culture where lying is the norm, though we honor integrity.

There are other areas where our integrity is questionable. How about loosing our temper and pretending it’s okay or justified. How can you navigate the challenge of growing and improving with integrity, while being an inherently flawed person?

4 Secrets for Perfectionists Who Want To Finally Enjoy Being Done

A friend of mine was being a wallflower because he couldn’t dance salsa. The truth is, he was taking lessons, had been for months, and did know how to dance. Clearly a struggling perfectionist who just needed to go for it anyway.

With a little encouragement, he was up on the dance floor doing the very thing he said he couldn’t. Perhaps little disjointed in his moves (don’t tell him I said that), but he was up there enjoying what he had been trying to get perfect, instead of waiting to be good at it before enjoying it. What are you trying to get just right?

3 Keys to Regretting Fewer Missed Opportunities (by Overcoming Fear Sooner)

It was my teenage daughter’s birthday, and we suggested she could have friends over for a part if she liked. “No, I’m okay,” was her quick reply. This was a couple of years ago.

Overcoming fear of calling people up on the phone wasn’t something she was gonna tackle just then. She new we wanted her to be the one to call around and organize it, and she didn’t feel comfortable doing that.

So, she missed an opportunity for a party I’m pretty sure she would have loved. She’s come a long way and recently planned a birthday movie outing with her friends.

Sure, be happy and by all means be grateful, but stay on your toes and keep learning. It’s actually a lot of fun and it saves a lot of trouble and heartache.
