5 Things You Want to Do When You Need Life to Be Simpler [infographic]

I remember a few years ago, feeling it awesome to get a smart phone. I thought, “This will make life simpler.” And I was in touch with all my communications, emails, and apps almost instantly.

Then just a couple of months ago a friend gave me a smartwatch with a buzz to my arm and I was able to see all my notifications even faster, with a flick of my wrist. This ended up driving me crazy and I discovered reason why.

As a professional coach, I encounter folks just like yourself who hire me to help them achieve a goal, overcome a challenge, or to solve something in their lives. The first thing I do with them is to give them a list of questions which basically ask them to get honest with themselves and rate where they are on a simple 1 to 10 scale of where they are in each area of their lives. Coaches call this a “Life Wheel”. (more…)

Could Your Self-Talk Be Literally Killing You or Your Dreams

As an English teacher, working around children tends to put me in contact with all of their little germs. I had to put in some extra time teaching and all I could think about was not getting sick and fearing that I would, and the negative self-talk started.

Sure enough, I feared a fear and it came upon me, and I was pretty messed up. But then I remembered my secret weapon, yep positive self-talk. We have so much control and power through the mind. — A little extra garlic and vitamin treatment sure helped, too.

How To Challenge Your Problem and Stop Feeling Stuck In Life

Sometimes family presents us with incredible joy and sometimes we just feel stuck and in pain. Do you have a marriage situation you just can’t get out of, or are you nursing a child through an illness you just can’t beat? No one enjoys feeling stuck in life.

I remember sharing a video about a woman who lost her legs to a sudden disease. Stories like that, where a person comes through and has an amazing life, in spite of circumstances can be inspiring, but what about our own situations? – Less extreme? Perhaps, but just as challenging and possibly even more painful to live with.
